  • Andrew McCartney B.Sc., F.C.A., C.T.A.
    Andrew graduated from the University of Southampton with a B.Sc. in Accountancy and Finance. He trained in London with Touche Ross (now part of Deloitte) and in 1975 qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then joined the family business and in 1978 became a partner in the firm. He qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser in 1975 and is a Qualified Financial Advisor.

    He has strong business links in the city as a member of the Londonderry Chamber of Commerce and is a past President of the Londonderry Rotary Club.

    Andrew has considerable experience in accounting and auditing. He has a detailed knowledge of tax law and has successfully represented a number of clients at tax cases.

  • Nichola Curry B.Sc., A.C.A.
    Nichola joined McCartney & Co in 2001 after graduating from the University of Ulster with a degree in Geography. She studied for her Institute of Accounting Technicians qualification and passed with distinctions in 2003. Nichola continued her accountancy studies and in 2007 she qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Nichola was appointed as a manager of the firm in 2008.

    Nichola has a strong background in income tax and non-audit accounts preparation. Nichola's portfolio of clients includes a wide variety of owner managed businesses, farmers and not-for-profit organisations.

  • Peter McCartney B.Sc., A.C.A.
    Joining McCartney & Co. in 2010, Peter became the third generation of the McCartney family to work for the firm. His grandfather Albert McCartney joined the firm as a partner in 1949 and in 1978 Peter's father Andrew became a partner.

    Peter graduated from the University of Manchester with a B.Sc. Management in 2003. He trained with a medium sized accountancy practice in Dublin and in March 2008 Peter qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

    He then joined one of Ireland's largest accountancy firms, Grant Thornton, and specialised in auditing and accountancy services for large and publicly listed companies. In January 2010, seeking an opportunity to work abroad, Peter completed a 6-month contract with PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the Caribbean.

    Peter's time in these various sized accountancy firms has provided him with a significant range of accounting and audit experience in entities ranging from sole traders to publicly listed companies.
